I only came across ‘inspo’ last year when I first started using social media properly - very late starter. I’ve written my next newsletter about making friends on the internet in mid-life!
I’ve been using social media since 2009 and I don’t think I’ve ever used it ‘properly’. I come up with constructive ideas but don’t follow through for very long. Takes a lot of focus and energy to be constructive on social media. :-)
Thanks for this Article - I have saved it. My favourite read: ‘Waking the Women.’ 100 pages. Perimenopause themed.
Not
a novel or a memoir. More a philosophical deep spiritual dive into perimenopause - seeing it not as a decay but as a rebirth. It gave me so much energy. Loved it. Reviewed it on here in Phoenix tales - my second SS - in August.
Thanks Joanna - I’d love to read your review if you don’t mind dropping a link here?
I like the idea of rebirth and that’s how I’ve seen my 40s. Letting go of a version of myself that no longer felt true and not letting the fear of judgement hold me back.
I recently read Go as a River after it was recommended by a friend (one of my favorite ways to find new reads). I found myself wanting to become a self-reliant owner of a peach farm.
All the divided reactions to All Fours definitely has me curious! If only to find out which way I'll lean.
I'd like to read The Mercies and All Fours as well as Neema Shah's book - though I'm still to read Kololo Hill and want to read that one first! Right now I'm reading Claire Adam's 'Love Forms' and then I want to turn to the books I have on the kindle app - so I can holiday without the weight of paper books!
Would love to hear your thoughts when you get round to reading The Mercies and All Fours. I’ll look up Claire Adam - she’s a new author for me. Even though my kindle is already stuffed, I’ll be downloading a few more before my holidays!
She’s a writer who uses description to create mood while writing in a straightforward spare way. I read ‘Golden Child’ years ago and can still remember the dark, tragic mood and the way it made me feel. ‘Love Forms’ has very different characters and a very different story line but the mood of the protagonist, her temperament even, is so well conveyed.
also, I'm so ancient, I had to look up the meaning of 'inspo'.

I’m glad I read All Fours without any preconceptions! Let me know what you think when you read it.
I’m definitely with you on the peach farm!

Sounds like an author I’d enjoy reading!
