Hmmm. My only tips are familiar ones which work for me though I often don't practise them: Make plans the night before you go to bed. Wake up, stretch, get out your exercise mat and either meditate, do breath work or do stretches. Think again on the priorities for the day. These may not be work related. It could be a critical conversation with a loved one. Feel at peace that your best today will be enough. Breathe. Begin.

I see your list as reminders of what we can do to stay grounded and well. On that note, I prioritised going swimming today. That's done. Now getting ready for an afternoon at work. The kitchen is a mess and thought that's not ideal, it will be sorted and that's okay.

Enjoy your writing!

Swimming is something I’m looking forward to tomorrow, particularly as it’s just warm enough for me to brave outdoors!

Wow, do you go to a Lido? All my swimming in the UK has been indoors. When I become a grown-up swimmer I might try wild water swimming (rivers and lakes).

Just the gym pool - no wild swimming for me yet!

No prizes for guessing how much of my own advice I’ve taken today. But at least I made a plan the night before!

We can only try!

'My nervous system is calmer, my mind more peaceful and my imagination sharper.'

Breathwork does this for me.

Some good tips there! I no longer allow social media or news first thing in the morning and it's helped with getting a less anxious start to the day. :)

Totally agree with you there Malika… the only social media I let myself consume other than writers on Substack are Bookstagram and puppy training reels!
